After 4 years of the confined feel of Metal and Earth, we are stepping into the high-pressure cleansing of the Water element! Yang Water can feel like a pressure washer on one end of the spectrum, and a lovely rain shower at the other. Many will have forgotten what they look like after two years of being covered up by all that Earth energy, and vulnerability will be on display. This could lead to feelings of embarrassment as well as empowerment once the initial rush of exhilaration wears off.
Tigers are associated with late winter/early spring and govern the energy in February/early March. This means that 2022 will have a push/pull, freeze/thaw, pause/leap vibe. Tigers enjoy lots of downtime after pouncing on their prey, so make sure to consider that as you plan your year. There will be much more activity in 2022, like it or not.
The last time we felt this combination of energy was in 1962. The first vaccine for polio was debuted, The Beatles released their first single, “Love Me Do”, the Cuban Missile Crisis was in full swing, Spiderman first appeared in the Marvel comics, the US formally condemned apartheid in South Africa, Nelson Mandela was arrested, the first WalMart, Kmart, and Motel 6’s opened, the James Bond movie franchise began with “Dr. No”, and the Negro American League was finally disbanded. Who knows what momentous things we will look back on 60 years in the future!
Flying Star Feng Shui:
All of the Flying Stars will be in their home positions all year; this happens every 9 years, so look to 2013 as a guide for how things felt.
SE: The 4 Green star will help with any academic efforts as well as artistic endeavors. This area governs long term Wealth & Abundance, so avoid adding metal objects here this year so you don’t chop down your money tree!
S: The 9 Purple moves into the Fame & Reputation sector. This puts a spotlight on potential promotions, profitable investments, and general happiness. A good place to put a Red Envelope with instructions to the Universe to inspire career and life success!
SW: The 2 Black star heads to the home station of Love & Partnerships. This star is often connected to illness and health issues, so if you have any underlying physical challenges, this will be the year to focus on that. Add anything made out of metal to balance out all of the excess earth energy. If you are in property-related businesses, this will increase your profits with good returns on your investments!
W: The 7 Red brings its conflict exacerbating energy to its home sector of Children & Creativity. It might indicate that there could be quarrels, robberies, and thefts. Think of squealing brakes…it’s not the end of the world but best to mitigate that ASAP. Add fire elements to “melt” the excess metal, along with water elements to moderate the melting.
NW: The 6 White adds more metal energy to the Helpful People & Travel sector. As this is also a metal-on-metal situation as in the West, you would think that the enhancement would be the same. Not so fast…this is Yang Metal, so think of stacking boxes on top of each other to reach a new height. To keep things stabilized and minimize any stress or ill health from that, add moving water to “drain” the metal.
N: The 1 White energy creates an ideal space for work, study, or meditation. The Career & Life Path sector enhances wealth accumulation, world travel, and stronger personal relationships! Adding Metal here will enhance this sector.
NE: The 8 White moves into the Skills & Knowledge sector, making this the main Wealth area for the year. Prosperity and good fortune can be activated by using this sector more, and is especially lucky if this is your front door. If not, add Yang-type objects, like clocks, fans, televisions, or water features.
E: The 3 Jade yin wood star acts like a vine that chokes out the other vegetation nearby. That’s why it is often called the arguing star, and has been linked to lawsuits, arguments, and legal issues. The Family & Ancestors sector is also about legacy building, so if you experience stressful mental or emotional difficulties, add red or fire elements to this sector to “burn” up the excess wood energy.
Center: The 5 Yellow star is in its home base, so it has less power this year than in other years. Because this is the Health & Balance sector, it can mean that health might suffer, so take extra care to guard your financial, physical, mental, and spiritual health this year. Place the 5 Element Pagoda here or add metal objects to balance out the heavy earth element. This also means that renovations can easily happen anywhere in the house, except for the very center of the home!
