2023 Yin Water Rabbit (1/22/23-2/4/24)
Last year’s rush of getting “back to normal” may have left you feeling depleted. Next year’s Yin Water energy will begin the cosmic reset of reviewing our goals and getting grounded again. Yin Water is calmer than the rushing dynamism of 2022. Rabbit energy is associated with fertility, springtime, excitability, and falls in the month of March (“Mad as a March Hare”). The EAST sector of Family and Ancestors also is connected with Rabbit, so expect legacy, tradition, and “that’s just how we do it” to be challenged. For those with Metal Day Masters in their Bazi (Chinese astrology) charts, this may be your year of forced introspection, changes, and finding those who can teach you something new. Fire elements will likely experience the potential for burnout so learn to take a break when necessary. Earth elements enjoy abundance and expansion and will need to take care to not let boundaries get overrun. Because the Wood element is fed naturally by the Water element, those with this Day Master will have an easier time capitalizing on opportunities and recognizing new ways to make money. Water Day Masters should also expect change, though the choice of words can create connection, incremental growth, and fresh insights. SE: The 3 Jade star flies into this space, adding the potential for legal complications and disagreements, often around investments. Add elements of FIRE here to tame the overabundance of Wood energy.
S: The 8 White star is the main Wealth energy, making 2023 a great year for career boosts and increasing visibility. Activate with WATER or Yang objects such as a TV, fan, or a clock.
SW: The 1 White star will influence communication and academic pursuits. Spend time in this area when you feel you need a boost in your social circle or help in your career opportunities. Bring a pair of WOOD items or plants here to stabilize partnerships and love interests.
W: The 6 White star brings in another metal element to the sector governing Children, Creativity, and Creative Problem Solving. It should enhance all things work-related, but if you find yourself struggling, add some WATER to lessen the metal’s hold on the space.
NW: The 5 YELLOW star moves here. Do yourself a favor and keep this place calm if you aren’t skilled at balancing and juggling lots of moving pieces. No renovations here this year. Add METAL (5 element Pagoda is perfect). 5 Yellow isn’t always bad, but it’s Unstable Earth. Having METAL to contain it will help to keep Helpful People and Travel contained and supported in 2023.
N: The 9 Purple brings prosperity and good fortune to all career goals. It can enhance your long-term wealth creation, and even influence marriage and family prospects. WOOD can keep the energy focused.
NE: The 7 Red star makes the Skills and Knowledge sector challenging in 2023. It can create friction and arguments, and might lead to regression in children. Add FIRE if you experience any of these disruptions.
E: The 2 Black star is associated with health challenges, and 2023 could see minor irritants show back up from the past. Add METAL to calm things down. It also can inspire good returns on property related investments.
Center: The 4 Green is the governing star for all of 2023. The overall vibe will be conducive to artistic pursuits, learning new skills, and creativity. This may mean that new approaches to overall health will be necessary, be it physical, financial, emotional, energetic, or spiritual health. Small pops of FIRE elements here in the form of non-flame elements will ensure that the Wood energy of the 4 star won’t deplete the natural Earth element of the center. Think of a throw pillow with red lettering or fringe, or a decorative orange pot with an ivy in it.
